# Rate Limits

Each endpoint enforces its own request-rate limit. HTTP `429` is returned when a rate limit is violated; repeated violations after receiving `429` responses may result in your IP being auto-banned with an HTTP `418` response (see [Error Handling](/error-handling.md)). Rate limits are also documented inline on each endpoint's own page under `rest-api/` — the tables below summarize the limits stated explicitly in the source documentation.
